Week 1!

So, my first week at Cooking School starts tomorrow :D

Can't wait to learn the proper way to 'sweat veggies' and 'scramble eggs'. Gonna be an easy week, fingers crossed (if I manage not to cut any of them off). Will leave you all here and follow with photos day to day!

Prep.

Started preparing for Monday, first day at Leith's Cookery School. Used a bit of Nigella and Delia, though all this 'study' makes me hungry. Gonna be a long 10 weeks.

Chicken on white beans and tomatoes & Pear and chocolate cake

Today was my dinner night. I cooked Chicken on White Beans and Tomatoes and for dessert, a Flourless Pear and Chocolate cake, both of which were gluten free :)

Wales

So my grandma took me to Wales, 2 hr train out of London, mainly just to show me around and show me off to our relatives. She's proud, I'm a winner, it makes sense I guess. My dads side of the family is Welsh, so it was nice to click into that part of me. Saw the Cardiff Castle, walked through Bute Park, took a boat down to Cardiff bay, then a bus up to where my Great Aunty Joyce lives. She's probably the most blunt person I've ever met, and obviously the relative I got the 'funny' genes from, she was a crack up. Had a fab time getting drilled on both my current overseas and home male situation, which then proceeded with both of them agreeing with my statement of 'just waiting for someone who's a 10/10'. Classic.

Brighton

Today trekked to Brighton by train with Zoe and Joe. Ran riot on the pier, ate a triple decker goats cheese, mint and sundried tomato 'sandwich' and finished with a cider in the sun. Top day with top friends.

Went for a long walk this afternoon as it was a nice day. Bumped into Notting Hill, though unfortunately did not run into Hugh Grant or that guy who helps run the Travel Book store:

Ok so, long story short I took the year off school, worked at little, saved some money and shipped myself overseas to do some literal and 'spiritual' journeying, mainly just so I could grow up and mature a little but in a way that was self motivated and awesome. I counseled on a summer camp in the States for 2 months, which was beyond anything I've ever experienced, and am now in the UK (the official place of my birth) about to undergo 10 weeks of Cooking School. I'm blogging mainly for me, but if it interests you that's cool too. Most of it will be boring meal preps to promote my learning and make it seem as though I'm studying but again I'm hilarious so it'll probably amuse you in some way or another, which again, is great!
